Who we are
This website, legitimatedegree.com ("we", "us"), is run by an independent admissions agency with offices at 125 Kingsway, London WC2B 6NH, UK and 450 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10017, USA. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us through our contact form or WhatsApp.
What we collect
- What you tell us: your name, date of birth, country of citizenship, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, home address, education history, work history, training and the degree you're interested in, when you use our forms or message us.
- Proof of identity: a photo or scan of your passport, driver's licence or national ID card when you place an order, used to confirm who you are and to prepare your university applications, and a passport-style photo if you provide one for university ID cards.
- Your CV and thesis: the CV you upload with your order, and your thesis or dissertation if you add one, so we can prepare your applications.
- Client documents: if you become a client, the documents needed for your applications, such as transcripts, certificates, employment letters and identity documents.
- Payment details: what we need to take payment under your service agreement.
- Technical information: basic information your browser sends when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type, kept in our hosting provider's logs. Your language choice may be saved in your own browser. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and assess your eligibility.
- To prepare your service agreement and provide the services you choose, including preparing and submitting university applications.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To keep the website secure and understand, in general terms, how it's used.
For visitors in the UK and European Economic Area, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you or taking steps you ask for before one, our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business, our legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it.
Who we share it with
- Universities you choose to apply to, with your agreement.
- Translators, credential evaluators and government offices, when you ask us to arrange translation, evaluation or legalisation.
- Service providers who help us run the business: Cloudflare hosts this website and stores your order and files, encrypted, in the European Union; email and messaging services (Resend sends our order confirmations by email, and we use WhatsApp); and Telegram, which our staff use to receive a short alert about each new order (your name, the reference and what you chose, never your documents).
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
International transfers
We work in the UK and the US, and the universities and service providers involved may be in other countries. When your information leaves the UK or European Economic Area, we use the safeguards the law requires.
How long we keep it
- Eligibility checks and messages, if you don't become a client: up to 12 months. To confirm
- Proof of identity, if you don't become a client: deleted within 3 months. To confirm
- Client records: for the length of our service and then up to 6 years, for legal and accounting reasons. To confirm

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, or transfer it to someone else.
